The First French watch sent into space comes back in 2017 with a new design in collaboration with CNES (France's equivalent of NASA).

FIRST FRENCH WATCH SENT INTO SPACE

In 1982 a French Spaceman, Jean-Loup Chrétien, flew from the Baikonour base for a 10-day trip into space. On his wrist, he wears the very first French watch in outer space, the Yema Spationaute 1. In 1985 the Discovery shuttle takes off with on board Patrick Baudry and his Yema Spationaute II for the first Franco-American orbital flight mission.

In tribute to the 10th French space astronaut Yema launches in 2017 the Yema Spacegraf in collaboration with France's National Center for Space Studies (CNES). The Spacegraf has undergone a series of sub-spacial test flights to validate its solidity and good functioning under extreme atmospheric conditions. These tests were carried out at 35 km altitude above the Earth.

AN UNIQUE SPACE WATCH WITH A DISTINCT HISTORY

In tribute to the 10th French space astronaut Yema launches in 2017 the Yema Spacegraf. The watch's dial is marked with a red X at ten o'clock and a red-white-blue symbol representing the French flag. The most important rocket launch locations around the world are indicated on the unidirectional rotating bezel so as to indicate the secondary time zone.

Two Spacegraf versions are available (Date / Day or GMT).

SPACEGRAF UNDER GRAVITY

The Yema Spacegraf was designed in collaboration with France's National Center for Space Studies (CNES).

As part of CNES' prototyping tests, the Yema Spacegraf was placed in zero gravity for a cumulative duration of 10 minutes. To do so, the Spacegraf was embarked on the A310 ZERO-G where she made 30 parables of 22s, as well as other experiments carried out during scientific parabolic flights. The Spacegraf responded perfectly well to all tests.
