YEMA's latest French moonwatch designed in collaboration with France’s Space Agency commemorate the 30th anniversary of French parabolic flights (simulated gravity). Designed to meet the strict requirements of ZERO-G flights' crew members, this new Spacegraf combines perfect readability at all times with high precision. The chronograph feature allows precise reading of G periods during parabolic flights and easiness-of-use when in weightlessness.
The Spacegraf ZERO-G 316 L stainless steel case is known by its inalterability, hardness and excellent resistance to corrosion and scratches
In combination with the chronograph function, the tachymeter bezel allows measuring of airspeed, flight time and distance of parabolic flights
The aviator-style hands and the oversized applied markers are treated with Super-LumiNova C1 to ensure perfect readability during parabolic flights
The Spacegraf ZERO-G dial subtle difference in height and texture inspires from the lunar surface
The caseback is engraved with France's Space Agency (CNES) official logo and markings to commemorate both the 30th anniversary of parabolic flights and YEMA's First French Watch Sent Into Space
The Spacegraf ZERO-G's canvas strap has been specifically designed to withstand extreme in-flight conditions when in microgravity but also to be worn elegantly with a dressier outfit
The hands and markers are coated with Super-LumiNova C1 so as to secure perfect readability in the dark
Les aiguilles et les index sont revêtus de Super-LumiNova. La Superman héritage Blue offre donc une parfaite lisibilité dans l'obscurité.
Precise time measurement and high accuracy (to the nearest second) is a highly sensitive matter for astronauts. France's Space Agency has privileged a quartz movement over a mechanical one so as to ensure high precision at all times and under all extreme conditions of parabolic flights. During flight tests, the Epson YM90 movement managed to meet all these requirements by perfectly timing zero G periods (chronograph function in combination with red highlighted seconds markers) and parabolic flight stages (minute chronograph feature at 6 o’clock).
Parabolic flights (or zero G flights) are a gateway to weightlessness. They are dedicated to scientific experiments and to space equipment technological testing. From a flight attitude at 24,000 feet, the ZERO-G aircraft increases attitude. During this phase, the weight is 1.8 times greater than normal weight for 22 seconds. Then the aircraft trajectory is piloted to follow a kind of parabola and the power thrust is reduced. The vertical load factor goes from 1.8G to zero gravity for about 22 seconds. The first pilot adjusts the control stick tilt to maintain the vertical load factor at zero, while the second pilot maintains the roll angle at zero, and the mechanic adjusts the thrust of the engines to cancel the longitudinal load factor. An exit phase at 1.8G symmetrical with the entry phase, is then performed on the descending part of the parabola to return the aircraft to a stabilized altitude level within 22 seconds.

" This chronograph meets the CNES standards and will be equipped by a chronometer which allows the user to perfectly situate himself/herself in the parabolic time-space. More precisely said, in the rhythmic pace of the trajectories that follow every 3 minutes, especially between 22 seconds and 44 seconds (Zero-G stages). This timepiece gathers every aspect of this demanding activity that I love. As a civil pilot, I love the precision and fluidity aerial trajectory. Being passionate about space and science, I am pleased to have helped YEMA in designing this watch which will offer technology in contributing to the benefit of science. "
Head of parabolic flights program, CNES
YEMA's signature #TimeofHeroes dates from 1970. It reflects the history and values of the brand and what it stands for. It tells the adventures of remarkable sportsmen and explorers who have achieved the extraordinary under the most extreme conditions, with a YEMA watch on their wrists.
Designed in 1982 at the start of the collaboration between the CNES and YEMA, the Spationaute model was the first French and Western Europe watch to travel to space. It was worn by Jean-Loup Chrétien during the French-Russian mission PVH, Soyouz T-6.
The CNES is responsible for the development and implementation of France's Space Program. CNES is the most important National Space Agency after NASA.

Elegant and robust watch, the red dominant chrono hand is fabulous, and compliments the textured dial. Very legible hands and great lume. I can’t fault this watch, it’s stunning.
