For almost 2 years, we have worked on a substantial evolution of the Superman model, by bringing technical improvements and a modernized architecture to this legendary YEMA model, while preserving its iconic design.
CROWN, BEZEL & BEZEL-LOCK NEW ARCHITECTURE
The bezel-lock, the Superman’s centerpiece which design was patented a long-time ago, and the crown tube have been redesigned to ensure a smoother operation and that the bezel-lock stays securely in place.
The bezel and the crown have also been redesigned. New micro drilling in strategic areas of the case right under the bezel allows for optimized rotation of the bezel click spring and a more precise alignment of the bezel insert.
The winding crown's architecture has been completely reviewed. The crown tube and the winding stem have been modified to provide a smoother operation of the various pull-out crown positions and rotating directions when adjusting the caliber functions. When winding and setting the time of the Superman, the improved crown provides a feeling of stability and quality.
TRACK THREE TIME ZONES
Bi-directional 24-hour graduated bezel with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal insert, offering a high-quality appearance. Designed for travelers, the GMT complication makes it possible to read up to 3 different time zones thanks to the GMT hand and the rotating (24 clicks) bezel.
PROFESSIONAL DIVING WATCH 500M
Beyond its GMT functions, the Superman model is above all intended for diving professionals, now benefiting from an enhanced water resistance of 500m and technical improvements allowing it to adjust the bezel on the water surface when unlocking the bezel in the unscrewed crown position.
The 316L stainless steel case back thickness has been increased from 1.5mm to 2.2mm so as to achieve a 50 ATM water resistance. YEMA's historic crest, embossed with a hydraulic press, is now treated by various microblasting processes, which results in a more accurate and precise finishing.
DAY / NIGHT REFERENCE
During the Antarctic summer the sun is almost constantly in the sky, the days lengthen rapidly until the sun no longer sets, a phenomenon called the Midnight Sun.
During this perpetual day time, the 24-hour graduated GMT bezel makes it possible to distinguish day from night. The bezel is divided into two halves each with a distinct color, one corresponds to the daytime hours, the other to the night-time hours.

Pendant la période d’été antarctique le soleil est presque constamment dans le ciel, les journées s’allongent rapidement jusqu’à ce que le soleil ne se couche plus, un phénomène qui s’appelle le Soleil de Minuit.
Lors de cet ensoleillement perpétuel, la lunette GMT graduée 24h permet de distinguer le jour de la nuit. La lunette est divisée en deux moitiés chacune avec une couleur distincte, l’une correspond aux heures diurnes, l’autre aux heures nocturnes.
SUPER-LUMINOVA GRADE A
The markers, hands and bezel are treated with Super-LumiNova Grade A to ensure increased readability.
The bezel’s luminescent marker at 12 o’clock and the luminescent arrow-shaped minute hand provide scuba divers with an accurate indication of dive times in poor visibility conditions at the greatest depths. The luminescent 24-hour scale on the bezel and the luminescent hands facilitate reading of the three time zones in all situations.
SUPER-LUMINOVA GRADE A
Passage de Super-LumiNova Grade Standard à Grade A pour assurer une lisibilité accrue. La lunette GMT avec son insert en aluminium allié à du Super-LumiNova, a demandé une conception particulière et innovante afin d’offrir une visibilité jour/nuit même dans l’obscurité. Cette construction spécifique et minutieuse a notamment permis de dissocier réellement la lunette en 2 parties, comme en attestent les index de 6h et 18h.
Le repère luminescent sur la lunette graduée et l'aiguille luminescente en forme de flèche fournissent au plongeur une indication précise du temps de plongée en condition de mauvaise visibilité dans les plus grandes profondeurs. La graduation 24H luminescente sur la lunette et les aiguilles luminescentes, facilitent la lecture des trois fuseaux horaires en toute situation.
MORE RESISTANT DOUBLE-DOMED SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL
The new double-domed sapphire crystal offers better readability, increased resistance, and a resolute vintage look.
The crystal has been reduced by 0.3mm on its height and widened by 0.6mm on its outside diameter so as to provide better seating in the case while preserving its 2.6mm in thickness and the beautiful magnifying effect when looking through it from an angle.
YEMA3000 GMT IN-HOUSE CALIBER
The GMT In-house Caliber YEMA3000 is powered by optimized components yielding slightly better performance than generic Standard Grade calibers (ETA, Sellita, Miyota), offering a Daily Rate of +/- 10 s/d and a 42h power reserve.
NAVIGATION INSTRUMENT
Primarily a time-measuring instrument for professionals and explorers called upon to travel the world, the Superman 500 GMT can also prove useful as a backup for navigational instruments.
To locate the cardinal points in the southern hemisphere, simply point the 12 o'clock index on the watch dial towards the sun, the north/south line is halfway between the 12 o'clock index and the hour hand.

New reissue of the iconic YEMA Scales bracelet from the 1960s in polished/brushed 316L steel, featuring a new double security buckle with a diver extension for easy and quick adjustment over a diving suit.
